Gemstone and Silver Jewelry Care
At the heart of my philosophy lies the belief that jewelry is meant to be worn, loved, and taken on adventures. With these care practices listed below, your jewelry will continue to sparkle and shine on all your adventures.
- To preserve the brilliance of your gemstones, avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures, and rough handling.
- Regularly clean with a soft toothbrush and mild soap solution to remove dirt and oils.
- Sterling Silver naturally tarnishes from exposure to oxygen. The oils from your skin, however, help prevent tarnishing. You can also keep your jewelry in an airtight ziplock bag or a jewelry pouch while you are not wearing it.
- Jewelry polishing cloths or dips are a great way to return your jewelry to a higher polish. My favorite polishing cloth is the Sunshine cloth. It is best to avoid dips with your jewelry that has gemstones, as some chemicals can sometimes discolor or destroy your stone.
- Avoid wearing your gemstone jewelry swimming and exposing them to lotions and perfumes.
