A Friday in the Life of a Small Business Owner
Welcome to a Friday in my life as a jewelry maker, small business owner, educator, and outdoor program director! My days are a whirlwind of creativity, business management, and adventure, as I juggle the various roles that make up my life.
8:00 AM: The day begins with a peaceful walk with my dogs, setting a positive tone for the day ahead.
9:00 AM: After breakfast, I dive into business and camp planning. I check emails, manage orders, and finalize details for upcoming events and activities. I also take some time to schedule social media posts, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of my jewelry making process and promoting my classes and events.
12:00 PM: Lunchtime provides a much-needed break. I take time to recharge and enjoy a meal outdoors, soaking up the beauty of Flagstaff.
1:00 PM: In the afternoon, I head to my studio to work on my own jewelry. On long day's like this I often spend the afternoon doing my favorite parts of my job; the designing and planning collections and cutting bezel wire for future pieces.
4:00 PM: Next I start to prepare for the evening's class. I set up the space, gather materials, and I make sure I've had a snack for I'm all fueled up and ready to go!
5:30 PM: The class begins, and I immerse myself in teaching metalsmithing. It's a joy to share my passion and knowledge with others.
7:30 PM: As the class wraps up, I clean up and set up my studio for tomorrow's class. It's satisfying to see the progress my students have made and to know that I've helped inspire their creativity.
8:00 PM: After a rewarding day, I return home for dinner and a relaxing evening with my family, grateful for another day spent doing what I love.
